I am an innovator, designer, and engineer with a proven ability to bring ideas to life
and demonstrate their deployability through a hands-on approach.

'That is me'

Christian Felsner

11/2022 - today
Leading a pilot project to 3D scan 2,400 insect type specimens from five Swiss collections to protect the physical integrity of the specimens and provide global access to the 3D models and images data. From physical specimen to digital twin.

02/2017 - 08/2021
Co-founding a design laboratory to transform the seeds of academic research into tangible concepts and prototypes. Using design to cloth the gap between research and society. Building on close collaboration between designers, researchers, engineers and other disciplines.

03/2001 - 09/2011
Working on the intersection of design and engineering, giving ideas a first 3D appearance in clay models and digital 3D models. As a professional model maker, it is the challenge to translate the emotion of a sketch into a product while adhering to the technical specifications.

'I find the problem
nobody knows how to address
And build my job around it.'

Christian Felsner

My multidisciplinary background in both science and industry equips me to tackle complex challenges with a holistic perspective. I am passionate about using advancing technologies to improve processes and create sustainable solutions. Collaborating with a diverse, motivated team to develop interdisciplinary and creative solutions is essential to me. I seek the freedom to explore unconventional solutions to set new standards and drive innovation.

Design Thinking

Design thinking is a problem-solving approach focused on understanding user needs, generating creative solutions, and iterating through prototyping and testing. It is non-linear process based on six exercises; Observation, analysis, ideation, prototyping, testing and feedback. It is a fast process that brings innovative solutions to life.

'Fail fast To succeed sooner!'

David Kelley

hands on approach

At the core of innovation lies rapid experimentation and testing. Creating mock-ups, even from simple materials like cardboard, transforms ideas from abstract concepts into tangible prototypes. This process invites collaboration, sparking discussions and new ideas from others. Just as importantly, it quickly exposes the weaknesses of a concept, allowing us to refine or move on to the next idea with minimal delay.

Project Management
